Touring Group Rides
Weekend Tours
The Saturday group ride is a longstanding staple for the LCW
- Group rides will begin in late-March early April with the early season rides generally beginning at 9:00AM with the start time in the warmer months at 8:00AM.
- Riders meet about 10 minutes prior to the tour start time to sign in and receive any instructions. Riders must sign in with the appropriate group leader at the start of every group ride for insurance purposes. All tours will leave at the designated start time. Sign-in begins 10 minutes prior to start time
- Tours will be posted as early as possible with changes up to one day prior to the ride, on the LCW calendar (accesible from the front page of the LCW website).
- Cyclists will be broken into groups according to group leader with a specified pace, distance and route. The calendar will show which rides are available on a given day. Cyclists may pick whichever group they feel is within their abilities and meets their needs for the day. The LCW Touring Etiquette Guide provides guidance on selecting a group. The calendar posting outlines the group leader, distance and anticipated speed and other applicable notes.
- New cyclists, who have taken the Road Bike 2 clinic, should always start in a group well within their abilities. You must be able to demonstrate adequate group riding skills and etiquette before moving into a faster group.
- Touring route maps are available for download through the Club's RideWithGPS account and will be posted in the group ride posting on the calendar.
