Request for information

We have received the following request for information from John Swart.  If you have anything to communicate, you can contact him at jswart7@cogeco.ca

I would appreciate your help in connecting with interesting Ontario cyclists, and learning about the best rides in your area - road, trail or mountain bike.

My name is John Swart, from Fonthill, Ontario.  I'm a retired guy that writes (newspaper, magazines), bicycle tours (five continents),  and advocates for cycling (Bicycle Friendly Communities, Bike Tourism). I'm looking to tour special or unique cycling routes in Ontario, and meet  cyclists with stories to tell.

There are racers, advocates, politicians, and business people who live and ride in Ontario, and have cycling-related narratives.  There are also everyday Ontario cyclists, men and women, that are "out there" or even more eccentric than most of us.  For example, there's the CKAP folks who have cycled more than 300,000 kilometres each, the Bike Shop owner who has 200 vintage CCMs and keeps them a secret, and the Ontario Randonneurs that love to ride into the sunset.  All add personality to Ontario cycling.

And, you know the roads and trails that are unique and spectacular, yet don't make the tourism brochures.   Too tough, too long or short, too remote, not beginner friendly, whatever the reason they're off the radar for most riders.

If you, or anyone in your club, would like to share a route or provide me with contact information and /or background for a fellow rider that might fit the description above, I'd love to hear from you.  There may be a story to tell.

Thanks very much for your time and interest, and ride safe in 2018.
